A coyote swims through flooded farmland from a levee break on the Middle River, near Holt, Ca. The levee break has turned 12,000 acres of farmland near Holt into a 12,000 acre lake. Story examines levees in CA and the danger they pose because they were mostly built sans engineering in the 19th century by simple farm folk who pushed dirt until there was a wall. Most are not regulated or maintained by any government agency. .
